The Outer Rim wixsite hosts the music of Socrates, an independent musician/songwriter. Born in Athens, Greece, he taught himself piano, guitar and songwriting as a teenager and recorded his first demo at eighteen. Since then, he has recorded a number of EPs and LPs with his bands The Blue Waterlily and Electric Q. He's also recorded as a solo artist (SOKRATES) and performed at various venues and events.
Socrates is inspired mainly by the music of the 70s and the 80s. The Beatles, The Doors, Hendrix, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, The Smiths, and REM are but a few of his influences. His music is a collage of various musical styles and his lyrics deal mostly with themes of love, time, death, change, angst, lust, and loneliness.

Flashback is a compilation album of selected recordings made from 1998 to 2011. It was put together in early 2012 but wasn't released until the spring of 2016 (exclusively online). It's meant to be a retrospective of Socrates' music, covering the first fifteen years of his musical work. Three of the songs included (tracks 8, 10 and 11) were previously unreleased.
